How is Silhouette InstaLift performed?
The in-office procedure is conducted with local anesthetic. Once nerve sensations have been numbed, and the treatment area marked, a string of polylacticoglycolic acid resin, a sugar strand that resembles a thick suture, is inserted. What is special about this strand of sugar acid is that several bi-directional cones are affixed along its length. As the string is woven through connective tissues beneath the skin, these cones lift and support the superficial scaffolding of tissue across the mid-face and jaw line.
Benefits of InstaLift
The clear benefit of the InstaLift procedure is that no surgery is involved. This means none of the usual side effects of surgery, including down time. However, there is also a benefit to the design of the suture used in this technique. The presence of bi-directional cones lends support to the minimally-invasive “thread-lift” type of procedure.
